Robert B. Mitchell died Sept. 4, 2008. He was 72.

A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Vasa Park, 3560 W. Lake Sammamish Parkway.

Robert was born March 2, 1936, in Sparks, Neb. He served his country during the Korean Conflict as a United States Marine. He proudly served as a Seattle firefighter for 30 years before retiring in 1987. 

He was active in the All Around Church of Issaquah, the Masonic Lodge, Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Retired Firefighters Association and the Shriners. 

Robert enjoyed golfing and showing his classic 1956 Ford pickup in local car shows. 

Robert is survived by his wife, Pretty Mrya Lane, of Issaquah, whom he married in 1992; sons John, Charlie and Michael; daughters Denyse and Teresa; brothers Don and Dean; sister Ann; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Portland Shriners Hospitals for Children, 3101 S.W. Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97239.
