St. Joseph Holiday Bazaar is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Nov. 8 at 220 Mountain Park Blvd. Handcrafted and holiday items will be featured along with delicious food to enjoy while you shop. You will be able to support nonprofit programs, as well as local crafters. Call 392-5516.

The Eastside Chapter of the Northwest Biodiesel Network’s regular monthly meeting is from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 12 at the North Bend Railroad Depot, 205 McClellan St. The topic is “Basics of Quality Biodiesel Production.” Call 503-9876.

The Issaquah Parks and Recreation Department presents Family Friday from 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 14 at the community center and Julius Boehm Pool. Cost is $5 per family at the door. Call 837-3317.

The Issaquah Mothers Group presents the Holiday Gift and Craft Bazaar from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Nov. 15 at Blakely Hall, 2550 N.E. Park Drive. Local moms who have a home business are invited to participate. Admission is free, but a food item to donate to the Issaquah Food Bank is requested. The Issaquah History Museums hosts Deck the Depot at 10 a.m. Nov. 15 at the Depot Museum. Hot beverages and snacks will be provided. Call 392-3500.

The Harvest Dance, benefiting the Issaquah Food Bank, is from 6:30-11 p.m. Nov. 21 at Pickering Barn, 1730 10th Ave. N.W. Astro Cats and Magnolia Road will perform. The Vasa Park Christmas Craft Show is from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Nov. 20-21 and from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Nov. 22 at 3549 W. Lake Sammamish Parkway S.E. This free show features thousands of handcrafted Christmas décor items, jewelry, soaps, candles, home furnishings, scrap-booking, garments and accessories, and gourmet foods. Call 413-1004.

Providence Health & Services’ Senior and Community Services hosts a trio of O’ Christmas Tree events benefiting its seniors and hospice patients, including those served at Providence Marianwood in Issaquah. The events are:

4A Family Affair Treeview, featuring presenting artist Anna Skibska, from 3-8 p.m. Dec. 1 at The Westin Seattle, 1900 Fifth Ave., Seattle. Event is free.

4Silver Bells Luncheon, featuring 1960’s pop singer Merrilee Rush, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Dec. 2, at The Westin Seattle. Cost is $50; reservation deadline is Nov. 28.

4O’Christmas Trees Gala Dinner and Auction — 5 p.m. Dec. 3, The Westin Seattle, Grand Ballroom. Price is $275 per person; reservations required by Nov. 27.

Fundraisers

The annual Harvest Festival is Saturday, Nov. 15, when 150 volunteers will come together to serve 2,000 of the less fortunate. The ARAS Foundation, Plateau Chiropractic and other health care professionals are sponsoring this day of giving. Guests will be treated to toys, clothes, books and nonperishable foods, as well as chair massages, chiropractic adjustments and haircuts by professionals. There will be pony rides for the children, as well as punch and homemade cookies. Call 868-8448. 

 

Religious/spiritual  

Eastridge Christian Assembly, 5025 Issaquah-Pine Lake Road S.E., hosts the Eastridge Family Conference Nov. 14-15 with featured speaker Dr. John Trent, a best-selling author and expert on building strong families and relationships in stressful times. Registration for couples is $125 for the entire weekend, $50 for Friday only or $100 for Saturday only. Spanish story times, for families with children ages 3-12, is at 7 p.m. Mondays.

Toddler story times, for ages 2-3 with an adult, is 11 a.m. Tuesdays and 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Thursdays.

Young toddler story times, for ages 12-24 months with an adult, is 10 and 11 a.m. Wednesdays.

Youth

Toddler Time, for children ages 1-3, is from 8 a.m. – noon Monday through Friday at the community center. At the indoor playground are cars, bikes, slides, wagons and lots more to discover. Parents are responsible for their own children. The cost is $2 per child. Call 837-3300.

 

Senior Center

Center hours are from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Activities are open to people 55 and older. The center is at 75 N.E. Creek Way. Call 392-2381.

A book/article discussion group meets from 10:30-11:30 a.m. the second and fourth Wednesday. 

A conditioning and stretching class is from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Tuesdays. Fee is $16.

Line dancing classes are from 10-11 a.m. Thursdays. Fee is $5.

A drawing and painting class is from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Tuesdays. The fee for this eight-week course is $120.

Stay Active & Independent for Life classes are from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays through Nov. 12. The fee is $35.

Appointments can be made for foot care clinics every Thursday. A new, lower fee is only $25 per person. Payment will now be made at the front desk. Remember to bring a small towel with you.

Line dancing lessons are from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursdays. Cost is $5 per session or $18 per month.

A writers’ call is from 10:30-11:30 a.m. the first and third Wednesday. 

Instructor Norma Foss leads a computer lab to answer basic questions about the computer 1-2 p.m. Tuesdays.

Artist open studio is from 10 a.m. – noon Tuesdays. Bring your own project and work with fellow artists.

Pinochle is from 1-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays.

Bridge is at 10:55 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. 

Happy Hookers needlework group meets from noon – 3 p.m. Thursdays.

Mah-jongg lessons are 9 a.m. Tuesdays. Play from 9:30 a.m. – noon. 

Tai Chi classes are 9-10 a.m. Mondays.
