Muriel C. Harris, of Issaquah, died Oct. 28, 2008, at the Issaquah Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 91.A memorial service was Nov. 3 at Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home.

Muriel was born April 9, 1917, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was raised in Berkley, Calif., and graduated from Oakland Technical High School in Oakland. She pursued college-level studies in education after high school. She was a schoolteacher and manager in California and the South Pacific for many years. She moved to Issaquah in 2002. She was a member of the Soroptimist. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and all kinds of music, especially Hawaiian and Polynesian.

She is survived by one daughter Penny Kure, of Snoqualmie, and son John (Josephine) Harris, of San Jose, Calif.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one nephew; one grandniece; and Julie Harris.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Fortson, father Claire Green, mother Elma Green, and sister Lucille Shaw.

Arrangements are by Flintoft’s Funeral Home and Crematory.
