Richard L. Strissel, passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Issaquah. He was 71 years old.Dick was born Jan. 29, 1937, in Rudyard, Mont., and was raised in Havre, Mont. He graduated from Montana State University in 1959 with a degree in physics and went to work for The Boeing Co. as an engineer that same year. 

He met and married Marlene Stout in 1961 and they raised three children in Bellevue. When Dick retired from Boeing in 1998, he and Marlene moved to Henry’s Lake, Idaho.

Survivors include Dick’s wife Marlene, of Issaquah; Kristen Strissel, of Sammamish; Lisa and Carl Chidiac, of Sammamish; and Rick and Tracy Strissel, of Ferndale; and his five grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony and Annemarie Chidiac, and Ava and Rose Strissel. His sister predeceased him in August 2008.

A private burial service will be followed by a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bellevue. 

The family suggests remembrances to the youth program at the Protestant Community Church, P.O. Box 428, West Yellowstone, MT 59758. Additional remembrances will also be posted on the Web site.
