Betty Klineburger
Betty Klineburger, a longtime Issaquah resident, died Nov. 10, 2008, in Issaquah. She was 84.
She was buried at Tahoma National Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Betty was born Betty Thurman in Great Falls, Mont., on Feb. 10, 1924. She grew up in Great Falls and, after graduating from high school, moved to Ogden, Utah, in 1942 to work for the government at Hill Field Air Force Base, near Salt Lake City.
Her future husband, Eugene (Gene), came to Ogden, Utah, in 1942, as part of a military operation with the Army. They met at USO dances and hit it off on the dance floor. They married in 1944.
After the war, they moved to Tucson, Ariz., where they bought a home and began their family of three children. They were in Arizona until 1954, when they moved to Bellevue. After her husband retired from Klineburger Brothers Worldwide Taxidermy and Travel Agency, they moved to Issaquah in 1973.Along with her husband, Betty had many travel adventures around the world, including Africa, Thailand, India and Alaska. They were also active in vintage car clubs, including the Horseless Carriage Club, Mercedes Benz Club and Classic Car Club, and they were members of the Issaquah Senior Center and Seattle Flight Museum.
Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years, daughter Dianna, daughter Judy (husband Kim Simonelli), son Lloyd (wife Jan) and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with her brother, Allen, of Denver.
