Gladys V. Shahbaghlian

Gladys V. Shahbaghlian, of Cashmere and a former Issaquah resident, died Nov. 10, 2008. She was 93.
At Gladys’ request, no services will be held; however her family will honor her in a private celebration of her life.
Gladys, the daughter of Rose and Peter Mardrosian, was born May 6, 1915, in Lawrence, Mass. The family later moved to Sacramento, Calif., where she was raised.
Gladys married Sam Shahbaghlian in 1937, and they raised their two sons in Downey, Calif.
Widowed in 1966, Gladys put herself through school to become a dietician and worked at St. Francis Hospital in Lynnwood, Calif., for 25 years before she retired.
In 1991, Gladys relocated to Issaquah to be closer to her two sons and grandchildren. In June 2008, she moved to Cashmere.
Gladys is survived by sons Steven Shahbaghlian, of Seattle, and David Shahbaghlian, of Cashmere; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Sam.
Her family said Gladys left her life as she lived it — with courage, grace and humor.
