James “Jim” Patrick Ivin, of Issaquah, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at home. He was 37.

A funeral was Nov. 22 at Flintoft’s Funeral Home and Crematory, Issaquah.

Jim was born Aug. 7, 1971, in Chicago, to Jerry and Diane Ivin. He was raised in Issaquah and graduated from Issaquah High School in 1991. Following high school, Jim furthered his education at Lake Washington Technical College.

On Sept. 18, 1998, Jim married Erin Christine O’Dell in Issaquah. They settled in Issaquah and started a family. In 2000, Jim started his career as a diesel mechanic at Northwestern Industries.

Jim was an outdoor enthusiast who loved dirt biking, mountain biking, snowmobiling, hiking and camping. He is remembered by his family and friends as a man who held a deep passion for his family, especially his children. Always involved in an activity with his family, friends or co-workers, Jim possessed a nonstop motor for life experiences. He is deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his loving children, Nathan and Kathryn; parents Jerry and Diane Ivin, of Ronald, Wash.; brother Michael (Darlene) Ivin, of Issaquah; two nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.

The family suggests remembrances for Jim’s children be made at any Washington Mutual Branch, account number 9400436790.
