The Issaquah Christian Church’s annual Christmas Tree Lot is open from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday – Friday and from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, through Dec. 24, at 10328 Issaquah-Hobart Road, S.E. All proceeds from tree sales go to support church missions, including home building in Mexico. In addition to a variety of trees, stands and ornaments, there will also be hot chocolate, apple cider, coffee and cookies served, accompanied by Christmas songs. Cougar Mountain Zoo’s Reindeer Festival is from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. through Dec. 23 and Dec. 26-30. Visit Santa in his house, sit in the Grand Traveling Sleigh, write Santa a letter and deliver it to his personal mail box, hear an elf read favorite Christmas stories and watch Santa’s reindeer in action. The Issaquah Parks and Recreation Department presents a Holiday Happening Dance for the special-needs population ages 13 and older from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 13 at Memorial Park Center, 105 Second Ave. N.E. There will be dancing, caroling and holiday cheer. Fee of $8 includes beverages and treats. Preregistration is required. Volunteers are needed. Call 837-3300.

The December Dash 5K run/walk for all ages is at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 13 at Issaquah High School, 700 Second Ave. S.E. Dash around downtown and surrounding trails while benefiting the Issaquah Food Bank. Issaquah Christian Church presents the only interactive Live Nativity in the Puget Sound area from 6:30-8 p.m. Dec. 14-16 at 10328 Issaquah-Hobart Road S.E. Appropriate for all ages. Refreshments will be served at this free event. Call 392-5848.

All ages are invited to enjoy “Holiday Songs Around the World” at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Dec. 17 at the Issaquah  Library, 10 W. Sunset Way. Discover holiday songs from Latin America, Japan and other countries accompanied by a wonderful array of instruments, including Andean bamboo flutes, marimba, percussion and guitar. The Issaquah Valley Senior Center presents a free Holiday Sing Along at 11:15 a.m. Dec. 19 at 75 N.E. Creek Way. Seniors ages 55 and up are invited to join pianist Carmen to sing some of those holiday favorites, or just come and enjoy the music. Call 392-2381.

Cougar Mountain Zoo’s rare Bengal tigers celebrate Christmas when they receive their gifts at 1 p.m. Dec. 23, including their own Christmas tree, wreath and gift boxes to destroy, as well as bones and other items to make a mess out of. The zoo is at 19525 S.E. 54th St. Call 392-6278.
