Fans of the HGTV series “Designer’s Challenge” can tune in Monday to spot a familiar face.

Cathy O’Neill filmed an episode three and a half years ago that is finally being aired at 3 p.m. on channel 68 on local Comcast stations.

The show’s concept involves inviting three designers to one home to redesign a room. O’Neill’s Issaquah business, Cathy Jones Design, was one of the three invited give a Woodinville couple from Hawaii their own exotic, Hawaiian retreat.

“They were given a week until Wednesday at 5 p.m. to make their final selection,” O’Neill said. “They argued until the last minute. The husband won.”

Which means O’Neill lost, as another designer was selected. But the upside is getting national exposure for the business she runs out of her Issaquah home.

“It was very fun, being my first time on TV,” O’Neill said. “I had a great time. I’d do it again in a minute.

“Plus, it’ll be fun to tune in and see what was supposed to be cutting-edge design four years ago,” she added.
