Patricia Harrigan Lawrence, of Issaquah, died Jan. 16, 2009, at Mercer Island Care Center. She was 74.Viewing was Jan. 26 at Flintoft’s Funeral Home and Crematory, Issaquah. A committal service followed at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent. 

Patricia was born Oct. 24, 1934, in Perry, Okla., to Rollyn and Bernice Smith. Patricia started her paralegal career in Oklahoma. When she moved to Washington state in 1960, she continued in her profession, joining attorneys Cushman & Holt in Issaquah in 1966. She retired from paralegal work in 1978.

Patricia married William “Bill” Beach Lawrence on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, 1977, in Blaine. After she retired, she and Bill moved in 1979 to Selah, where they owned and operated a horse ranch/hay farm and raised many dogs and cats. They moved back to Issaquah in 2000. When their health began to fail, both Patricia and Bill moved into the Mercer Island Care Center, where they shared a room.

Her family fondly remembers her as an amazing and fascinating woman, highly educated with an incredible vocabulary. Her husband remembers her as a good wife and the best-ever fishing partner. They spent many hours in both good and bad weather fishing for crappie, catfish, salmon and trout.

Patricia is survived by her beloved husband Bill of 31 years, a sister in Oklahoma, other relatives in Colorado and her extended family of friends. Friends are invited to share memories and sign the family’s online guestbook at www.flintofts.com.
