The event is open to the public. The school is at 5410 194th Ave. S.E.

More than 80 pieces of nautical art from students in preschool through fifth grade are displayed in the auditorium. Refreshments will be available.

‘Rainbow Sails,’ by first-grader Sanjna Battepati, is one of the 80 artworks on display at the Cougar Mountain Academy art show.

By opening the show to the public Denise Primeau, program director, said she hopes the community comes away knowing the students are proud of their achievements and actively engaged in their education.

Contributing art to the show is voluntary, but it is a part of the school’s Achievement Growth Program in which students are asked to engage and think about their learning outside the classroom.

The program has six projects students are asked to complete before the end of the year. The art show is the first one.
