Gretchen Marie Forsman
March 16, 2009
Gretchen Marie Forsman, of Redmond, died March 7, 2009. She was 32.
Gretchen was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on March 8, 1977, the daughter of Jolene Graeve and Joe Turnbach. Gretchen was raised by her mother in Waukesha, Wis. They moved to Jolene’s hometown of Portsmouth and lived there until Gretchen was 8. Her mother then married Lee Graeve, and moved the family to the Seattle area in 1986 and subsequently to Issaquah/Sammamish.
David and Gretchen were married at a sunset ceremony on Maui, Hawaii, on June 7, 2008.
Gretchen was an entrepreneur, managing her cleaning/organizing business, Gretchen’s Cleaning Service, for the past eight years.
Gretchen loved people, but babies the most, and longed for her own baby, even when she was very young. She enjoyed music, dancing, camping with friends, walking the dog, playing games with family, giving gifts, making people happy, cooking, flower arranging, interior design, making a home and cuddling with her husband.
Gretchen is survived by her husband David Forsman; parents Jolene Graeve and Joe Turnbach; stepfather Lee Graeve; brother Eric Graeve; and maternal grandmother Jean Schechinger.
Although Gretchen’s life seemed too short to many, those who were touched by her understood that the quality of her existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
With Gretchen’s passing, her family reminds others that her life is one to emulate and to be celebrated. They add that although they will miss her every day, she was a bright light in a dark world, vibrant, forever positive and smiling. Setbacks were short lived and she gave everything of herself to everyone. They hold dear her gentle spirit.
Arrangements are by Flintoft’s Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions or family donations are suggested to any Bank of America in care of the Turnbach/Forsman Family Fund.
