Hoopin’ for charity

Brian Comer, 15, of Sammamish, aims for a basket from the free throw line April 18 during Hoops of Hope at the community center. Comer, an Eastside Catholic High School student, raised $500 in pledges, and was one of 70 participants who raised $3,500 for orphan sponsorships, and school and health construction projects in Africa, all for children impacted by AIDS. The Issaquah Youth Advisory Board, with districtwide middle and high school students, hosted the event. By Greg Farrar
