William L. Brown
William L. Brown, of Issaquah, died at Overlake Hospital on Friday, April 17, 2009. He was 84.A funeral Mass will be at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1. Internment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent.
William (Bill) Brown, son of James and Gertrude (Hannon) Brown, was born Feb. 28, 1925, in Omaha, Neb. He served with the United States Navy during World War II. He then graduated from Creighton University, in Omaha. In 1949, he moved with his wife Helen (Sorich) Brown to Washington state.
For many years, he was president of Chamco America in Seattle. In retirement, he continued to have a strong interest and association with that business and his dedicated employees.
He was an avid hunter and had many friendships and good times at his Family Hunting Club in Othello, Wash. Aviation held his interest after World War II and he earned his private pilot license. Travel and friendships around the world were all important to Bill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, his son Gregory and his first wife Helen.
Bill is survived by his son William P. Brown, of Portland, Ore.; daughter Danielle (Brown) Charon, of Texas; and three grandchildren. He will be remembered by many other very special friends.
The family suggests remembrances to the charity of their choice.
