Track teams sweep

The Issaquah and Liberty high school boys and girls track and field teams won their April 30 KingCo Conference meets.

Dillon Reagan captured the shot put and the discus to help the Issaquah boys defeat Garfield 87-54. Johanna Carr won the 100 meters and the 200, and anchored the winning 800 relay as the Issaquah girls cruised by Garfield 114-35. Elain Tran, of Issaquah, won the 100 and 300 hurdles, and also ran a leg of the winning 400 relay. Issaquah’s Arielle Walton was another double winner, taking the 1,600 and 3,200.

Peter Stacy and Chandler Jenkins each won two events as the Liberty boys defeated Lake Washington 94-51. Stacy captured the shot put and discus. Jenkins won the long jump and triple jump, and anchored the Patriots’ winning 400 relay.

Kelsey Werre won the 100 and 200 for Liberty as the Patriots’ girls team sprinted by Lake Washington 91-53. Werre also anchored the Patriots’ winning 800 relay.

Eagles top Patriots

Lauren Merdinyan, of Issaquah, took medalist honors with a 46 as the Eagles defeated rival Liberty 267-271 April 30 in a KingCo girls golf match at the Maplewood Golf Course.

Lacrosse pounds Panthers

Jake Director scored five goals and Jordan Goldstein four as the Issaquah High boys lacrosse club walloped Snohomish 17-1 April 30 in a nonleague contest.
