Elsie Pine Youngblood, of Issaquah, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009. She was 92.A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. May 12 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front St. S., Issaquah, with reception following. 

The daughter of Jewish Russian immigrants, Aaron and Rose Pine, Elsie was born, raised and graduated from high school in New York City. In 1932, she married Jerome Shatzkin, an electronics engineer. They had two daughters and raised them on Long Island, N.Y., and in Princeton, N.J. After their daughters were grown, Elsie and Jerry moved to Pasadena, Calif., where Jerry worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Survivors include daughters Barbara Extract, of Issaquah, and Judith Klump of Pasadena, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons, 6 and 3.

The family suggests remembrances, if any, go to ChildHelp, an organization dedicated to helping abused and battered children.   

Arrangements are by Flintoft’s Funeral Home and Crematory.
