Eagles stay alive
The Issaquah High School baseball team stayed alive in the 4A KingCo Conference Tournament Monday by belting Bothell 15-5 in a loser-out game at Woodinville.
The Eagles, who lost 11-10 to Lake Washington last Saturday, scored in every inning but one. Miles Perkins had four hits, scored three times and drove in four runs to lead Issaquah. Spencer Rogers had three hits and drove in three runs. Michael Dixon, Marcus Gaan and Brennan Miller each had two hits.
Ethan Kalin was the winning pitcher for Issaquah.
The Eagles play Redmond in a loser-out game today. If Issaquah wins, the Eagles qualify for a playoff game with a District 4 team Saturday.
Skyline, despite turning a triple play, lost to Lake Washington 7-0 Monday in the tournament. The Spartans play Inglemoor today in a loser-out game. If Skyline wins, the Spartans also qualify for a playoff game with a District 4 team Saturday.
Liberty golfers place third
The Liberty High School girls golf team finished third Monday in the 3A KingCo Conference medalist tournament at the Snohomish Golf Course. Liberty had 541 strokes, finishing behind first-place Mercer Island (413) and runner-up Bellevue (509).
Tori Braunston was Liberty’s top scorer, shooting a 104 to place 12th.
Corinna Van Hurston shot a 105 and tied for 13th and Molly Culwell was 15th with a 106. All qualified for next Monday’s 3A District 2 Tournament.
Liberty soccer team eliminated
The Liberty High School boys soccer team lost to Bellevue 3-1 Monday in the 3A KingCo Conference tournament.
The defeat ended the season for the Patriots. Dakota McKay, assisted by Mark Loreen, accounted for Liberty’s goal.
Eagles, Spartans pitch shutouts
Issaquah’s and Skyline’s high school softball teams each tossed shutouts Monday in 4A KingCo Conference action.
Issaquah, behind Brianna Bray, blanked Garfield 10-0 in a five-inning game.
Bray struck out nine batters, allowed two hits and walked just one. She also had two hits to help her cause. Kelly Richards and Kim Sekijima also had two hits for Issaquah, which leads the KingCo Crest Division.
Skyline, behind Ashley Smiley, shut out rival Eastlake 2-0. Smiley tossed a four-hitter and struck out eight batters.
