Contemplating life

The 25th annual Issaquah Relay for Life raised more than $191,000 for cancer education and research at Skyline High School May 30-31. Above, Sara Akre sits by a luminaria she made in honor of her grandparents, Charlie and Mary Modica, who died from cancer. This is Sara’s third year putting up a luminaria, one of hundreds that lighted the way for walkers throughout the night. Fundraising is still continuing and could reach the goal of $242,000 set by the American Cancer Society.
