Slowpitch softball

Issaquah Parks begins Jack ‘n Jill and men’s 35-and-over leagues in August. Teams planning to participate in the leagues should call 837-3308 or e-mail Stephanies@ci.issaquah.wa.us.

Basketball

Issaquah Parks has a variety of basketball programs for adults including the noontime hoops from noon to 2 p..m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Issaquah Community Center. The 40-and-over noon hoops are noon-2 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Issaquah Community Center. There is an open gym Tuesday, 8-9 p.m.

Youth sports/activities

Soapbox derby: July 18, 7:30 a.m., Issaquah Rotary Challenge Day Racing and adaptive cycling demos for disabled youth. Rotary Challenge Day racing patterned after Soapbox derby. Call 864-6171.

Tennis Camp — July 13-16, 9 a.m. – noon, at Skyline High. The Issaquah Parks program is for beginners, advanced beginners and intermediate players, ages 7-10. There is another session July 20-23 for ages 11-14 at Skyline. Call 837-3350.

Baseball — July 26, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Issaquah Dragons U13 club holds tryouts for its 2010 Sandy Koufax team at Issaquah’s Veteran’s Memorial Baseball Field. There will additional tryouts Aug. 9 and Aug 16 at Tibbetts Park No. 2 in Issaquah. Call 206-409-5671 or 206-778-5882.

Fencing — July 18-Aug. 8, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., épée classes for ages 8-and-up at Issaquah Middle School. Washington Fencing Association handles instruction. Pee Wee soccer and T-ball —Issaquah Parks has classes for 4-5 year-olds that teach fundamentals of soccer and T-ball at the Issaquah Community Center. The first session runs through Aug. 12, 4-4:45 p.m. each day. Call 837-3350.

Little Dribblers Basketball — Current program runs through Aug. 13, 4-4:45 p.m., at Issaquah Community Center. Class is for ages 4-5 years-old. Program focuses on fundamental skills and concepts of basketball. Call 837-3350.
