Come beat the heat with a dash and a splash
July 28, 2009
The annual Beat the Heat Splash Day is from 1-3 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Issaquah Community Center.
Parents and children are welcome to cool down on the front lawn of the community center, where a water carnival will be set up. Price is $2 per child, 12 and younger. From 1-2 p.m., children can play with water balloons, sprinklers, bubbles and participate in many other water activities. At 2 p.m., the most anticipated attraction arrives — a fire truck from Eastside Fire & Rescue. The truck will spray its audience with cool water for about 20 minutes.
The 10th annual Beat the Heat Splash Day represents the partnership between Issaquah residents and EFR, while providing a fun way for families to spend their summer together.
Volunteers from middle and high schools are needed for the event.
