Joseph Brooks, of Issaquah, died at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. He was 59.A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at Flintoft’s Issaquah Funeral Home, 540 E. Sunset Way.
Joseph was born Dec. 8, 1949, in Paterson, N.J., the son of Cyril and Elizabeth Brooks. He was raised in New Jersey and graduated from the University of Tulsa, and received his master’s degree from California State University in Long Beach.
On Aug. 28, 1976, he married Deborah Joan Semple in Bellflower, Calif. He lived in California from 1974-1989, when he and Deborah moved to Issaquah. In his leisure time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren.
Survivors include daughter Donielle Allen, of Granite Falls, Wash.; sons Sean and Jason Brooks, of Marysville, and Nicholas Brooks, of Issaquah; brothers Richard Brooks, of California, and John Brooks, of New York; sisters Margaret Rudolph, of Massachusetts, Elizabeth Carroll, of California, and Adele Cianfrone, of Florida; and six grandchildren.
