People from six churches will gather with members from the community Aug. 30 for The Great Big Get Together at The City Church.Church members will host the picnic from 2-7 p.m. at 4221 228th Ave. S.E. on the plateau.
The event will be indoors and outdoors, said The Rev. Leon Sandberg, the creative arts pastor of the church.
“Anyone can come,” he said, explaining that the event is not solely for church members.
There is no need to bring food to the picnic, because there will be about six or seven commercial food vendors. There will be fun for everyone, recorded pop/rock music and a Christian group from the church, the Generation Church Band, which will perform from 6-7 p.m.
Children are able to enjoy the City Kids Zone, with pony rides, inflatable bounce houses and dunk tanks, Sandberg said.
The City Church is a wide-ranging church throughout the Puget Sound; it has six campuses with more than 6,000 people.
Parking for the picnic will be allowed at the church, Pine Lake Middle School and Sunny Hills Elementary School.
