A man snatched a gold bracelet from the wrist of an elderly woman at a local retirement facility Sunday morning before fleeing into nearby woods, police said.

At 11:30 a.m. Sept. 27, the man approached the woman at a facility in the 3600 Block of 228th Ave. S.E. and had a brief conversation.

He then grabbed her hand and tried to pull a ring from her finger, but was unsuccessful, police said in a news release Tuesday. After failing to get the ring, he then pulled the bracelet from her wrist and fled into a wooded area nearby.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. He is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s and approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a medium build; he was wearing a hat and bright-colored shirt.

If you think you may have information about the crime, call police at 837-3200.
