salmondays-quilt-20091009Elaine Atwood, left, and Jeanne Turner hold the Ohfishal 2009 Salmon Days quilt that’s up for grabs in a local drawing and fundraiser benefiting the organization Scribble Kids. The drawing is at noon Oct. 15 at the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, 155 N.W. Gilman Blvd. Scribble Kids is an organization dedicated to giving school-aged students scholarships to pursue their artistic talents at local art, theater, music and dance schools. People can donate for a chance to win the quilt, made by students, or simply enter the drawing, said Atwood, executive director for the organization. All proceeds will go to support children’s scholarships at local schools. The 2-year-old organization is in the middle of applying for nonprofit status. Go to www.scribblekids.org or e-mail Atwood for a chance to win at Elaine@scribblekids.org. All entries must be received by 11 a.m. Oct. 15. By Greg Farrar
