nightmare-halloween-2008103Nightmare at Beaver Lake, the sixth annual outdoor/indoor haunted attraction presented by the Rotary Club of Sammamish and Scare Productions, is Oct. 23-31 at Beaver Lake Park, 25101 S.E. 24th St., Sammamish. All net proceeds support community and international service projects. The first hour of every night (except Halloween), from 7-8 pm, offers a less-scary Family Hour. Full frights are from 8-10 p.m. on school nights and from 8-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Admission for Family Hour is $6 per person. Full Fright admission Sunday through Thursday is $11 per person, and $15 for Fridays and Saturdays. Parking is free. A $1 discount per person is given for a nonperishable food donation, which benefits the Eastside Domestic Violence Program. Learn more at www.NightmareAtBeaverLake.com.

Anyone interested in volunteering for acting, makeup or security at the Nightmare at Beaver Lake is invited to attend a volunteer-orientation meeting from 2-4 p.m. Oct. 26 and 27 at Sammamish City Hall, 801 228th Ave. S.E. New volunteers are required to attend an orientation. Go to www.NightmareAtBeaverLake.com.Halloween Hoopla: Trick or treat in downtown Issaquah from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Join the Downtown Issaquah Association and participating businesses on Front Street to celebrate Halloween. Decorate your own goodie bag at the Hailstone Feed Store. Make a special doggie or kitty bag for your favorite pet, courtesy of Earth Pet, and test your bowling skills with pumpkin bowling in Centennial Park. Keep an eye out for the orange window signs indicating stores are open for trick or treating!

H&H Halloween Costume Party, a TreeHouse For Kids Fundraiser, is at 7 p.m. Oct. 30 at 14919 Issaquah-Hobart Road. Donations are appreciated for party expenses; all remaining proceeds go to TreeHouse Foster Kids for backpacks, coats, shoes, underwear, etc. R.S.V.P. by calling 206-423-4521.

Trick or treat open house from noon – 3 p.m. Oct. 31, at Ankhasha’s Temple Of The Western Gate, 155 E. Sunset Way. Bring children in costume for a goodie bag of treats that includes real crystals. Play a Halloween game and choose your prize. Call 391-3825 or go to www.AnkhashasTemple.com.

Gilman Village will again have trick or treating for children up to age 12 on Halloween, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Oct. 31 at participating stores.

Fall Fun Fest: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30 at the community center, for ages 1-6. Wear a costume and enjoy activity booths, Toddler Time toys, face painting and prizes! This event is completely planned and run by youths in grades 6-9, from the Issaquah Youth Center. Registration is not required.

Saturday Social Club, for the special-needs population, takes a trip to a pumpkin patch for activities including pumpkin painting, from noon – 4 p.m. Oct. 24. Meet at the Community Center lobby. Fee is $55.

Issaquah Nursing & Rehab’s second annual kid-friendly haunted house is from 7-10 p.m. Oct. 31 at 805 Front St. S. Kids, don’t forget to bring your bag for trick or treating, too. It’s all free! Call 392-1271.
