Skyline had its second chance in as many seasons to prevail in the KingCo 4A championship match against the Bothell Cougars. But the Spartans couldn’t pull off a repeat.
Bothell beat Skyline 25-20 in a hard-fought league title rematch in front of a packed crowd at Pop Keeney Stadium.
The Cougars came out hard against the typically swift and debilitating Skyline defense. Running back Luke Proulx scored on a 70-yard pass from quarterback Mitchell Muller less than four minutes into the game.

The Bothell touchdown came on its second possession, after Skyline’s Evan Zeger intercepted a Muller pass on the second play from scrimmage.
Bothell led 13-0 after the first and hit the halftime break leading 13-7. Kasen Williams caught a 10-yard Jake Heaps pass in the end zone for the Spartans in the second quarter.

Skyline’s Cooper Pelleur caught two Heaps touchdown passes in the second half – 22 and 11 yards respectively.

Heaps completed 19 of 35 pass attempts for 233 yards. Williams had six catches for 106 yards.

Skyline heads into the playoffs 7-2 as the second-place KingCo 4A team.
