With the nation ready to commemorate Veterans Day on Wednesday, learn about a program to help World War II veterans see the National World War II Memorial. Veteran Dave Waggoner will discuss the program at the Issaquah Valley Grange today at 7:30 p.m. The grange meets at Issaquah Myrtle Mason Lodge Hall, 57 W. Sunset Way.

Waggoner is an active volunteer in the memorial program, known as Freedom Fighters Honor Flights. The airline flights seek to fly World War II Veterans who have never seen the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., to see the tribute.

The first of the nonstop flights will depart from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in March. The veterans spend an evening in the capital, and then tour the memorial and sights, and return the next day on another nonstop flight.
