Local teams reach state tournaments

This is a busy week for several local high school sports teams as they enter state tournaments.

The Issaquah High School girls soccer team, which won the 4A KingCo Conference tournament last week, entertains Bellarmine Prep at 7 p.m. Nov. 10 in the first round of the 4A state tournament.

Skyline, the defending state 4A champions, also plays Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. against Tahoma at Tahoma.

The Issaquah volleyball team plays Kentwood Nov. 12 in the first round of the 4A state tournament in Kennewick’s Toyota Center. The tournament continues through Nov. 13.

Issaquah, Skyline and Liberty swimmers enter the state swimming championships Nov. 12-14 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way. Issaquah and Skyline compete in the 4A state meet, and Liberty competes in the 3A state meet. Most of the swimming action takes place Nov. 13 and 14. The 3A state diving prelims start at 7 p.m. Nov. 12. The 3A state swimming prelims begin at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 13. The 4A state swimming prelims start at 5:45 p.m., followed by the diving prelims. The finals take place Nov. 14 with the 3A meet beginning at 10:15 a.m. and the 4A meet at 5:45 p.m.

All three Issaquah district football teams will see action on the road this week after winning preliminary round contests last week. Issaquah plays Jackson in the first round of the 4A tournament at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 at Everett Memorial Stadium.* Liberty tangles with O’Dea at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in the 3A state tournament in Seattle’s Memorial Stadium. Skyline, the defending 4A state champions, plays unbeaten South Kitsap Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Tahoma High School.
