Eagles blank Bellarmine Prep
Senior Kristin Maris’ hat trick sparked the Issaquah High School girls soccer team to a 3-0 victory against visiting Bellarmine Prep Nov. 11 in the first round of the Class 4A state tournament.
Maris was assisted on two of the goals by Margaret Rauch. The other goal came on a penalty kick.
Goal keeper Brooke Miller recorded the shutout.
Issaquah, 15-2, will advance to the quarterfinals and will host Monroe, 12-5-2, probably Nov. 14.
Monroe shocked previously undefeated Emerald Ridge,of Puyallup, 5-1. The winner of Issaquah-Monroe quarterfinal will meet Lewis & Clark or Kamiakin at 6 p.m. in the semifinals Nov. 20 in Lakewood’s Harry Lang Stadium.
