Issaquah Police are warning residents not to give money to people soliciting funds over the phone after someone posing as a police officer called a city resident Wednesday asking for a cash donation for “a child licensing event.”

The Issaquah Police Department doesn’t solicit contributions over the phone for any reason.

Citizens should never make contributions or provide financial information to phone solicitations. They instead should try to get as much information as possible from the caller and report the incident to the police department, as the local caller did Wednesday.

Police don’t have any investigative leads in the case.

Reach the department at 837-3200.
