Judith Whitney, of Issaquah, died at Amber Lights Retirement Community, Tucson, Ariz., on Nov. 16, 2009. She was 88.A funeral service was Nov. 23 at Issaquah Community Church.
Judith was born on June 16, 1921, in High Point, Wash., the daughter of Anders and Elizabeth Myhr. She was raised in High Point and Preston, and attended Issaquah High School.
She married Frank Whitney on June 5, 1939. Following their marriage, Judith and Frank moved to Virginia Point, Wash.
She and Frank moved back to Issaquah in 1950. One of their homes in Issaquah was at 165 S.E. Andrews St., the former Issaquah Town Hall and current Issaquah museum.
Judith worked for 28 years as a shipping clerk for a fabricating company in Seattle.
After surviving Frank’s death in 1983, Judith was remarried Nov. 8, 1986, to Victor Moranos, of Issaquah. Victor and Judith were members of Issaquah Community Church and volunteered at the Issaquah Food Bank.
Survivors include daughters Nancy Ritz, of Sequim, and JoAnn Salazar, of Green Valley, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
The family suggests remembrances to Issaquah Community Church, 205 Mountain Park Blvd. S.W., Issaquah.
