Issaquah-based author honoredAuthor Lisa Quast was honored with a finalist award at the Stevie Awards for Women in Business in New York City Nov. 13.
Quast was nominated in the category Women Helping Women for her hard work and dedication to helping other women become successful in their careers or personal lives.
The mission of the Stevie Awards is to recognize and generate public awareness for excellence in the workplace.
Quast has provided more than 52 free career development training sessions around Washington state, reaching more than 1,500 women. She also penned the award-winning career planning book, “Your Career, Your Way!”
Most recently, Quast completed a series of e-books that offer tools and insight for situations women commonly face in the workplace that are available on her Web site — www.careerwomaninc.com.
Bank awards grant to St. Andrew’s Housing Group
Sterling Savings Bank of Issaquah recently awarded the St. Andrew’s Housing Group a $2,000 Community Reinvestment Act grant. In participation with additional contributions, the grant will provide housing for low-income individuals.
The St. Andrew’s Housing Group is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with limited income on King County’s Eastside, empowering these families to succeed by providing housing and access to services while strengthening local communities and encouraging diversity.
The Community Reinvestment Act is a federal law intended to encourage depository institutions to help meet the credit needs of the communities in which they operate.
