Eagles hop by Kangs

The Issaquah High girls basketball team shot to a seven-point lead in the first quarter and stayed ahead for good as the Eagles defeated the host Lake Washington Kangaroos 54-40 Dec. 16 in a 4A KingCo Conference contest.

Maddey Pflaumer, of Issaquah, scored a game-high 18 points. Blaire Brady added 10 points for the unbeaten Eagles,

In other 4A action, Skyline downed host Bothell 54-41. Kassia Fortier, of Skyline, scored a game-high 16 points. Morgan Farrar contributed eight points and Rachel Shim had seven points for the Spartans.

In the 3A/2A KingCo, Liberty walloped Sammamish 72-31. Aspen Winegar led the Patriots with 12 points, Breanne Faehnrich tossed in 11 points and Karlie Ludwig had nine points. All 12 Liberty players scored in the game.
