Skyline High School quarterback Jake Heaps continues to roll in the honors. This week, Heaps was selected to the USA Today All-USA high school football first team.

Heaps directed the Spartans to a third straight state championship earlier this month. Skyline, with Heaps at quarterback, went 40-2 for the past three seasons.

In addition to the All-America honor, The Associated Press selected Heaps as Class 4A player of the year this week. Joining Heaps on the AP first team were Skyline teammates Kasen Williams, Anthony DeMatteo and Evan Zeger. Williams was selected as a wide receiver, DeMatteo as a linebacker and Zeger as a defensive back.

Liberty High School’s Jake Bainton was selected as a wide receiver on the 3A all-state first team. Patriot quarterback Trey Wheeler earned honorable mention.
