Local teens cast in ‘RENT: School Edition’

Local teens Suraj Saifullah, 15, of Issaquah, and Andrew Lee, 15, of Newcastle, are stepping out and tackling tough issues in Seattle Children’s Theatre’s “RENT: School Edition.”
“I’m really hoping to not just be confident about my experience, but proud of what we’ve done in ‘RENT’ as a whole,” Suraj said. “Just to be in it is cool.”
Every summer, the theater’s professionals step aside to make room for aspiring young actors, directors and musicians on the stage.
Suraj and Andrew have been acting for some time, but it is the first time either has performed with SCT.
“I love to sing and I’ve been doing it since choir in fifth grade, but I guess it just transformed into theater,” Andrew said. Read more
