Trees for charity The annual Christmas Tree Lot returns Nov. 27 to Issaquah Christian Church at 10328 Issaquah-Hobart Road S.E. Proceeds help support church missions, including building homes in Mexico. The lot is open from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 24. Don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate the holidays in Historic Downtown Issaquah. Starting Nov. 28, visit participating merchants on Front Street and in Gilman Village for the Deck the Halls Downtown window decorating contest. Cast your vote for the best decorations in the ballot boxes located in stores. And all are invited to join the DownTown Issaquah Association for the annual tree lighting at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 5. Santa Claus will light the tree at Pedestrian Park at the corner of Sunset Way and Front Street. The Issaquah History Museums hosts a history hike of Grand Ridge Nov. 28. Hikers will visit the remains of mine entrances and other discernible mine features. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Issaquah Train Depot for a brief presentation. There is a fee of $6 per person for the hike, or $3 per person for members of the Issaquah History Museums.
