The Rotary Club of Issaquah recently honored the following seniors for its students of the month for December.Andrew Stratton

Category of recognition: outstanding student

Parent: Sandra Stratton

School: Tiger Mountain Community High School

Sponsoring teacher: Hilary Oliver

Academic achievements: student of the week award

Athletics: basketball award from YMCA

Outside school affiliations: YMCA volunteer

Hobbies: attending Seahawks games, cooking with family

Future goals: attend Renton Technical or Job Corps, pursue occupation in brick, masonry and dry walling

Emma Kelly

Category of recognition: foreign language

Parents: Pet and Wendy Kelly

School: Issaquah High School

Academic achievements: studied abroad in Spain

Athletics: Seattle to Portland bike ride, Courage Classic bike ride

Activities: foreign languages, cycling, skiing, traveling

Future goals: attend The American University, in Washington, D.C., to study foreign languages and international relations for a career in international business and U.S. Foreign Service

Tasha Feng

Academic achievements: maintaining 3.9 grade point average and surviving Advanced Placement English

Athletics: IHS Dance Team junior year, track team senior year

Activities: art and Japanese, won Pokémon coloring contest at age 10, honorary mention for drawing entry in Reflections in freshman year

Outside school affiliations: Issaquah Dance Theatre, volunteer at Petco for Purrfect Pals

Hobbies: dance, video games, soccer, drawing, watching “Glee” and “So You Think You Can Dance”

Future goals: University of Washington, probably a career in art and/or Japanese

Amanda George

Academic achievements: a thespian Mono Duo state award, drama

Activities: Honor Society, walkathons, drama productions, set design, musicals, designing posters for school events

Future goals: continue education at Cornish College of Arts, pursue a degree in architecture, minor in art

Candice Cunningham

Future goals: attend a four-year university to obtain Bachelor of Science in nursing to pursue a career as neonatal nurse
