Local agencies seek support to help Haiti

Issaquah residents can support aid efforts following the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti by sending monetary donations to local agencies. Helping the victims is only a text message away.

People can donate $10 to the American Red Cross by texting “Haiti” to 90999. The amount will be added to the sender’s next phone bill.

Northwest agencies that are helping with the disaster include:

Wyclef Jean’s Haitian Yele charity: Donate $5 by texting 501501. The money will be added to your next phone bill.

International Rescue Committee: Go here or call 1-877-REFUGEE toll free.
