Leon Yearout

Leon Yearout, of Yakima, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010. He was 89.As per his request, no services will be held.

Mr. Yearout was born in Wapato, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a carpenter and taught in Issaquah; Torrance, Calif.; and Palos Verdes, Calif.

Mr. Yearout was at Issaquah High School from 1954-1959, teaching history and journalism, and was a junior class advisor. His daughter, Peggy Ann, graduated form IHS.

Mr. Yearout was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma, and his daughter, Peggy Ann.

Survivors include brothers Leroy (his twin) and Don, both of Yakima; sisters Gaynelle Lacombe, Patricia Stark and Jean Miller, also from Yakima; and four grandchildren.
