A motorcycle driver died March 20 after he struck a pickup just south of Issaquah.

Authorities said a Toyota Tundra was headed eastbound on a stretch of Tiger Mountain Road at about 1:15 p.m. When the 18 year-old driver of the truck made a left-hand turn from Tiger Mountain Road onto 241st Place Southeast, the motorcycle struck the truck. Authorities said the driver apparently did not the see the westbound motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the right rear of the truck. The impact threw the motorcycle driver more than 50 feet.

Bellevue firefighters and the King County Sheriff’s Office said the driver, Issaquah resident Kenneth Earl Solders, 57, died at the scene. Police said he wore a full-face helmet at the time of the accident.

The driver of the pickup, another Issaquah resident, was not injured in the accident.

Authorities said the accident had no evidence of the involvement of drugs or alcohol. The sheriff’s office said the crash investigation continues.

Remembrances for Solders may be sent to Rite Care of Washington, 3227 N.E. 125th St., Seattle WA 98125-4516. A funeral and celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. April 3 at Maximilien Restaurant, 81 Pike St., Suite A, Seattle.
