King County Parks and Recreation seeks applications from sports organizations to help improve parks.
The agency administers the Youth Sports Facilities Grants Fund; the program provides matching funds to rehabilitate or develop sports fields and facilities serving King County youth.
In order to receive the money, groups — such as nonprofit youth sports leagues — must partner with a public agency — such as a school district or a city parks department — to develop or renovate sports facilities.
Submit letters of intent by May 3. Learn more about the grant program here.
The county also offers the Community Partnerships and Grants Program. The public-private initiative encourages sports associations, recreation clubs and other nonprofits to construct, develop, program or maintain public recreation facilities on King County — as long as the land is used in a manner that does not result in new taxpayer-funded operations and maintenance costs.
The county accepts applications to the program on an ongoing basis. Learn more about the grant program here.
