The Issaquah Rotary Club recently honored the following seniors for its students of the month for March.
Marcell Bell
- Category of recognition: Physical education
- School: Liberty High School
- Parents: Shirley Jenkins and Arlen Bell
- Sponsoring teacher: Brian Hartman
- Academic achievements: Grades are up, on track to graduate
- Athletics: Football scholarship to Montana Western
- Scholastic interests: Crime and justice
- Hobbies: Football
- Outside school affiliations: Rugby, friends, family
- Future goals: Play college football, pursue career in computing technology
Greg Finch
- Category of recognition: Physical education
- School: Issaquah High School
- Parents: Kim and Dan Finch
- Sponsoring teacher: Brandon Fortier
- Academic achievements: Scholar athlete, honor roll
- Athletic achievements: All-league defensive tackle, second team all-league guard, lineman of the year, captain of football team
- Scholastic interests: Math, science, anatomy
- Hobbies: Football, weight lifting, basketball, video games and robotics
- Future goals: Attend four-year university, get degree; pursue career as engineer, orthopedic surgeon or a teacher
Zach Gatrel
- Category of recognition: Physical education
- School: Tiger Mountain Community High School
- Parent: Les Gatrel
- Sponsoring teacher: Bradley Nyhof
- Academic achievements: Good grades, has finished graduation requirements
- Sports: Baseball
- Scholastic interests: Physical education, psychology
- Hobbies: Weight lifting, motorcycling, snowboarding
- Outside school affiliations: Works at the YMCA, baseball, boxing
- Future goals: Health and fitness degree at Bellevue College; sign language and personal training certificate; Spanish; psychology; career as nutritionist or personal trainer
Abram Girgis
- Category of recognition: Resource/pre-vocation
- School: Liberty High School
- Parent: Nagah and Ahlam Girgis
- Sponsoring teacher: Nancy Montgomery
- Academic achievements: Maintaining a high grade point average, speaks Arabic language
- Scholastic interests: Math and science
- Sports: Track and field team, discus and shot put; football
- Hobbies: Fixing things, working with hands
- Outside school affiliations: Works at Southcenter Mall
- Future goals: Go to Bellevue College, and then move on to Western Washington University or the University of Washington to study mechanical engineering
