Issaquah Eagles baseball ties Bothell

The Issaquah High School boys soccer team fought first-place Bothell to a scoreless standstill Tuesday in a 4A KingCo Conference defensive battle.

Goalkeeper Evan King recorded the shutout for the Eagles, who are 5-2-1 in league play and tied with Roosevelt for fourth place.

Skyline jumped ahead of Issaquah in the jam-packed KingCo standings with a 5-1 rout of Ballard. Cole Calabro scored two goals for Skyline. Goals by Giancarlo Santoro and Braxton Griffin gave the Spartans a 2-0 halftime lead. Ballard scored in the first minute of the second half but Pedro Miola answered for Skyline.

The Spartans, snapping a two-game losing streak, improved their league mark to 6-3. Skyline is just one point behind Bothell and Garfield, who are tied for first place with 6-2-1 records.

In other action, it was Garfield 2, Redmond 0; Newport 1, Inglemoor 1; Roosevelt 5, Eastlake 1; and Woodinville 0, Lake Washington 0.

In the 3A/2A KingCo Conference, Mount Si moved to within two points of first-place Mercer Island with a 4-0 victory against Liberty. Sammamish topped Mercer Island 2-1, and Bellevue and Interlake fought to a 2-2 draw.

Skyline golfers down Sammamish

Ashley Young earned medalist honors Tuesday by shooting a 41 as the Skyline High School girls golf team cruised by Sammamish 255-286 at the Bellevue Municipal Golf Course.

Skyline Spartans win in lacrosse

Brennan West scored three goals Tuesday as he led the Skyline High School boys lacrosse club to a 13-6 victory against visiting Mukilteo in a Washington State League Division I contest.

Charlie Engel, Max Saffle and Jack Pruitt each had two goals for Skyline.
