Skyline tied for fastpitch lead

The Skyline High School fastpitch softball team entered this week tied with Sammamish Plateau rival Eastlake for first place in the 4A KingCo Conference Crest Division standings. Both teams are 6-4.

Skyline split two games last week. The Spartans lost to Inglemoor 8-4 April 26, but downed Roosevelt 4-1 April 30.

Against Roosevelt, Skyline pitcher Lauren Richards tossed a four-hitter and struck out 12 batters, Lindsey Nicholson had two hits and Lauren Wolfe drove in two runs for Skyline.

Issaquah won two of three games last week. The Eagles pounded Bothell 10-4 April 26, lost to Inglemoor 4-1 April 28 and blanked Lake Washington 2-0 April 30.

In the victory against Bothell, pitchers Mikenzie Voves and Brielle Bray combined on a one-hitter.

Voves, who had six strikeouts, was the winning pitcher. Heather Benjamin had two hits and drove in four runs for Issaquah. Christian McKone also had two hits for the Eagles.

Voves tossed a three-hitter against Lake Washington and had 13 strikeouts.
