Patriots, Spartans track teams finish first

The Liberty High School boys and the Skyline High School girls track teams each placed first Thursday in the annual Issaquah School District track and field meet at Liberty.
The Liberty boys won a close meet with rivals Skyline and Issaquah. The Patriots had 65 points with Skyline second with 61 and Issaquah third with 55. Liberty finished the KingCo Conference regular season unbeaten.
In the girls meet, Skyline won easily, compiling 91 points. Issaquah was second with 49 points and Liberty third with 39.
Peter Stacy, of Liberty, won the shot put, discus and javelin in the boys meet. He won the shot and discus easily. The javelin was a battle between Stacy and Issaquah’s Michael Baba. Stacy was first with a throw of 175 feet, 1 inch. Baba was second at 174-6.
Skyline’s Kasen Williams, the 4A defending state champion in the high jump, won the high jump by going 6-10 and also took first place in the long jump, going 23-6.
Alex Lee, of Skyline, won the 100 meters and the 200. Liberty’s Troy Solly captured the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.
In the girls meet, Skyline’s Haley Ziegler won the shot put and the discus.
Teammate Amber Dodd won the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles. The 100 and 200 was a battle between Skyline’s Shealee O’Donnell and Issaquah’s Haley Jacobson. O’Donnell nipped Jacobson in the 100, finishing
first in 12.4. Jacobson was second in 12.5. In the 200, Jacobson was first in 25.9 with O’Donnell second in 26.1.
