As the days get longer, it’s time to shape up, so on Wednesday, you’ll want to sprint to the free Women Spring into Summer! event sponsored by Evergreen Ford of Issaquah.
“It’s going to be a really fun event with lots of great things to do,” organizer Lynn Rehn said.
“We’re really excited about any event that promotes local businesses,” Issaquah Chamber of Commerce CEO Matt Bott said. “This event is really helping consumers rediscover some of the great businesses that we have here in Issaquah.”
Massages, nights out on the town with dinner, pedicures, drinks and cocktails — 60 Issaquah businesses are pulling out the stops to entertain the women who come to the event, Rehn said.
The free event runs from 6-8 p.m. at Evergreen Ford, 1500 18th Ave. N.W. Find more information here.
Each of the night’s 60 sponsors has created gift packages worth $50 or more and there are so many prizes, Rehn said, she’ll give one or several away every five minutes during the two-hour event.
The idea for the women’s night out and Issaquah-only trade show developed out of requests she’d gotten from women in the area to sponsor charitable and networking events, she said.
It spiraled from there as businesses offered up their support and prizes to be a part of it.
“I felt we needed to stimulate our economy,” she said. “Women have the discretionary dollars today and so we want to stop watching their backs as they go to Bellevue and Seattle with their tax dollars. We want them to think Issaquah first, because there are so many great businesses here that provide first-rate services. Keeping their business and tax dollars here benefits our community, our schools and our infrastructure.”
The dealership will clear part of its showroom to host the event, which Rehn said she hopes hundreds of women flock to, given the great perks.
In addition to manicures and pedicures, personal hair and styling tips and waxing, there will be an unlimited $5 wine and beer ticket available for purchase so you can sample liquid libations from Vino Bella, Sip, the Issaquah Brew House, Wine Styles and many more. There will also be fare from more than 10 local restaurants, including the Flat Iron Grill and Tutta Bella, Rehn said.
Two acoustic musicians and comedian Frank Agostini Entertainment will provide entertainment.
And if child care is the only thing holding you back from the soiree, well Rehn has thought of that, too.
Women who need child care can call in a reservation at Adventure Kids Playcare, in advance of the event for free childcare that evening.
“The business community has been so supportive,” she said.
“We want people to take a look around here,” Bott said. “There are outstanding individuals and businesses in this community that we should all be looking into to supporting.
“This and other events like it allow customers to get to know the faces behind those businesses.”
