Locals dominate triathlon leaderboard

Twenty one local runners finished in the top 10 of their respective groups at the 2010 Issaquah Triathlon on June 5.

Mathieu Signoretty, of Sammamish, placed fifth overall in the sprint triathlon. His time of 1 hour, 4 minutes and 27 seconds helped him place the highest of all local participants. Seattle’s Nicolas Flacco won the triathlon in 1:00:13.

Sammamish’s Eric Kutter took seventh place among the male masters finishers (1:06:53) and Issaquah’s Randy Golob placed eighth in the masters category (1:07:06). Kutter was 17th overall and Golob took 18th place among all competitors.

Robin White, of Sammamish, was the fourth-best female finisher overall with a time of 1:11:26.

In the duathlon, Robert Weisel, of Issaquah, took fourth overall (1:01:20) and Sammamish’s Mark Nicholson placed eighth with a time of 1:07:19.

Among the top 10 female finishers, Carri Miller, of Sammamish, placed fifth in 1:09:59 and Issaquah’s Shannon Lampman followed in sixth (1:12:16).

Issaquah resident Rebecca Tollefson won the 10K event with a time of 45:19 and fellow resident Kari Culbert took third overall (46:44). Sammamish’s Jason Olson placed ninth overall, finishing in 51:40, while Issaquah’s Megan Yount took 11th (52:09).

In the 5K race, Sammamish’s Jason Reeder placed highest of local athletes, finishing in 25:23 to place fourth. Patrick and Peter Woodward, of Sammamish, took eighth and ninth, respectively, both with a time of 26:05. Issaquah’s Monica Price finished 11th overall with a time of 27:23.
