King County emergency management officials urged residents to keep 911 lines open and to instead call nonemergency numbers for reporting illegal fireworks use on Independence Day.
Find a list of nonemergency fireworks phone numbers here. The site also offers a link to the Office State Fire Marshal’s list of areas with fireworks restrictions or bans, including Issaquah. The site includes a comprehensive list of public fireworks displays, too.
Fireworks pose a fire hazard to property and a safety risk to people using them. Every year, police and fire departments throughout King County respond to numerous fireworks-related fires and injuries.
Every fireworks-related injury and fire should be reported to 911. Complaints about fireworks use and noise should be directed to the nonemergency numbers.

Two hundred plus years of tradition flushed down the toilet by the powers that be because a few dolts are irresponsible with fireworks. Freedom to celebrate your freedom? Bah! They may just as well cancel the holiday since it apparently has no meaning to our “representatives” .
