Rapid Response

Will King County’s new plan for animal control and sheltering services provide better services for taxpayers?

Yes, if they have a presence here in Issaquah.  They will need to have enough officers to respond in a timely manner to complaints or assistance with regard to animals/pets.

Only if ‘animal control’ encompasses the cougars trolling the local bars!

Should Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill — facing a domestic violence charge in Issaquah — be allowed to play this season? No! Celebrity athletes play a role model, whether they choose to or not. We have to make it clear that violent or dishonest behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

I can’t see where taking away any person’s way of making a living would be beneficial. If he is found guilty and has to pay a debt to society, I don’t believe he should get a deferred sentence around his football schedule either. Let the chips fall where they may and treat the timeline of his case as any other citizen. There should be no specialness nor any desire to make him lose his career.

Paul Williams, Issaquah

NO! When are we going to stop enabling and rewarding bad behavior?

Matthew Balkman, Issaquah

We have a system of jurisprudence that presumes a person’s innocence until he has been tried and proven guilty.

However, the NFL has its own standards with regard to conduct detrimental to the public’s perception of the sport. It’s a tough call, but I think the Seahawks should suspend him until the issue is resolved.

If he pleads “no contest,” a three or four game suspension imposed by the league, as in the Ben Roethlisberger situation, would probably be appropriate.

Raymond Extract, Issaquah

Leroy Hill should not be allowed to play this season. Domestic violence is a heinous offense, and will never end or be well-controlled if it is not taken seriously by the general public, as well as sports figures.

Gail Givan, Issaquah

It would be a better outlet for his aggressiveness than using it against a wife or girlfriend, if it’s proven to be true.

Most of the idols our kid’s have to admire are pure trash.
Any of them that get into violence or hard drugs should see their careers dissapear immediately!!

Foreign entertainers should be sent home, and sports people should have their contracts and big wages cancelled as soon as possible.

Then maybe our kid’s would admire the DECENT ones that are left.

Got something to say?
