Local students receive scholarships

Residents from the Issaquah area were among 5,400 students to be awarded about $30 million in scholarship support from the University of Idaho for the 2010-11 academic year. The students are:

Local students make deans’ lists

-Brianna Milford, Alicia Hensen and Taylor Lundeen, of Issaquah, and Courtney Jonston, Erika Ikstrums, Michael Johnson, Elizabeth Last and Ryan Kilroy, of Sammamish, were named to the University of Idaho dean’s list for the spring 2010 semester. To qualify, students must maintain a 3.5 grade point average on 12 or more graded credits.

-Joel Abrahams, of Issaquah, has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Hofstra University, in Hempstead, N.Y.

-The following students were named to the Eastern Washington University dean’s list. To qualify, an undergraduate student must earn 12 quality hours and receive a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Issaquah: Aaron Abolofia, Anjuli Bates, Kyle Charlson, Anna Denton, Amanda Harms, Steven Kakoczky, Allysa Matusiefsky and Brennan Nykreim

The following students were named to the 2010 spring quarter dean’s list for Gonzaga University. To qualify, students must earn a 3.7 to 4.0 grade point average.

Local students make OSU honor roll

Michael D. Rydell, of Issaquah, and Kendall R. Liddle, of Sammamish, were recently named to the Scholastic Honor Roll for the spring term at Oregon State University. To qualify, students must earn a 3.5 or better grade point average on at least 12 graded hours of course work.

Local student graduates from Lafayette College, makes dean’s list

Colin Smith, of Renton, has graduated cum laude from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.

Colin earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and was one of 616 undergraduate students awarded 640 degrees at the college’s 175th Commencement May 22.

Smith also was named to the 2010 spring semester dean’s list. To qualify, students must achieve at least a 3.6 semester grade point average.

Local students make UW dean’s list

The following students from the Issaquah area were named to the 2010 spring quarter dean’s list at the University of Washington. To qualify, students must have completed at least 12 graded credits and have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (out of 4).
